Color Guard

Southern Star Color Guard is a visual performance ensemble of Southern Star Fine Arts. The color guard performs with the Southern Star Band during the fall season and contributes to the overall excellence, spirit, and presentation of the ensemble. The program is led by the Color Guard Director and is open to female students in 6th grade through 12th grade.

Color guard combines movement, choreography, teamwork, expression, and equipment performance. Students may perform with flag and other approved color guard equipment as determined by the director. Through rehearsals and performances, students will grow in discipline, confidence, teamwork, responsibility, and artistry.

Southern Star Color Guard is designed to serve both students who are already participating in the band program and students who desire to participate in color guard as their primary Southern Star activity.
